I have been learning to show my understanding of a text by answering questions about what I have read at Level 20-21.



Spelling was tricky getting it correct.  It was hard to understand some of the questions but I could read the words.

You did a great job Karis.  You can always go back to scan through the text to find 
information and clues to help you answer questions.  Always clarify words you don't know the meaning of.   Mrs Templeton

I am learning to identify, name and sort a range of 2D shapes according to their attributes: (number of sides, corners, parallel lines, curves, size and shape)

Describing a Storm

I am learning to describe a storm using my senses.

To be successful, I will choose interesting words to describe what I can see, hear and feel during a storm.

I have been learning to observe and compare the works of other artists and to create my own art work using geometric shapes.

To be successful I needed to look at the works of Klee, Matisse and Kandinsky (right) and cut a range of shapes in different sizes and place them carefully to create my own masterpiece. (left)

We have been participating in the Youthtown sports programme where we are learning to be part of a team.

"I liked doing relays, it was lots of fun."

I have been learning all about halves and quarters.

"It was a little tricky at first, but it is easy now."

I am learning to write alliterated sentences.

Karis came camping.

"First I wrote all the words that start with the 'k' sound, then I wrote a sentence. It was fun."

I have been learning how to draw a picture of me.  I had to study all the different shapes in my face before I made my picture.  Then I had to choose colours that made sense.

"I made good choices with the shapes I used.  I think my picture is good."

I am learning to count on from the bigger number. 

“I rolled 5 and a 6.  I changed them so the biggest number was first.  Then I put six in my head and then I counted on 5.”

My Family

My family is from China.  There are 4 people in my family.  My family loves to play together.  We like watching t.v. that is scary! Karis March 2016

In writing I have been writing about my family.  I have been learning to put capital letters and full stops in the right places.

I liked writing about my family, but it was a bit tricky to get all the capital letters in the right places.
